Based on what we've seen so far, are people optimistic about what a President Obama would do to promote sustainability and fight climate change? His platform talked about a major green technology push. Do you think that could happen given how hard Washington has fought that in the past?

I think there will be more than ever support for President Obama to put forth his sustainability ideas. There are too many of us waiting for it, to be ignored. Change, it is going to feel good!

Obama has talked about an "Apollo Project" for green technology. I hope he is able to follow through, as there will be a lot of opposition from the oil and coal lobbyists.

Obama has promised to make radical changes in the way we produce and consume energy. He has also said it will not be easy. I think that when he starts to develop his ideas, some will include taxes on excessive energy consumption. This will cost people, and in the process, many in the U.S. will resist these as unreasonable impositions. That will be the real test to see if citizens in the U.S. are really serious about our long term energy security.
