The average north american takes an eight minute shower everyday, which means about an hour is spent in the shower each week, with a CO2 emmission of 12kg. (http://www.thegreenguide.com/doc/119/calculator).
Cutting the time spent in the shower in half for one week saves 6kg CO2. This can be done by taking shorter showers, skipping showers, or some combination of the two.
Tips of taking shorter showers-
1. Avoid brushing your teeth and shaving in the shower. You could leave the plug in and when you are done use the water to shave (but not to brush your teeth).
2. Use 2in1 Shampoo and Conditioner, or only wash your hair every other day.
3. Use a shower timer to remind you to be quick.
4. Create a playlist on your iPod that coincides with your desired shower length.
5. Try a sailor shower (turn on water to get wet, turn off water when lathering up, turn on water to rinse off).
